AVG Antivirus Review

AVG Antivirus Review

AVG is a great choice for cyberthreat security. It comes with a solid feature set, a high score for malware protection and is priced at a reasonable price. However, it did have some issues in our tests, such as being heavy on system resources, and there were a couple of false positives.

The interface of AVG is simple and easy to use. Its dashboard tells you whether your computer is safe, and lets you perform a manual scan using its menu. You can personalize the scans and notifications. You can also black-list or white-list applications and decide what data AVG will share with its parent company. AVG includes a variety of additional tools, such as shredders for your files and a mode of no disturbance that ensures you are not disturbed when playing games or watching movies.

Security features include a password manager and firewall. It also comes with an antivirus scanner. Its anti-phishing features are excellent and its Enhanced Firewall offers additional features like data leakage prevention and ARM Spoofing Alerts. The firewall is particularly strong for public networks because it employs machine-learning to discern what is normal and what’s not and then adjust automatically.

AVG’s support options include a forum, online community advice, and a vast knowledge base. You can also contact its customer service via email or through chat on its website. The free version doesn’t come with annoying upgrade prompts, however you’ll need to deal advertisements when using the application.
