AVG Antivirus Review

AVG Antivirus Review

AVG provides a robust feature suite and a nearly perfect malware detection score. It also comes with one of the top firewalls I’ve tested as well as a reliable web and email scanner as well as powerful device optimization tools. It’s not equipped with parental controls and reliable ransomware security. It also has a tendency to bog down performance, particularly on less powerful computers.

The free version of AVG provides basic malware protection however, it doesn’t include the ability to scan for firewalls or websites. The basic plan comes with an even more comprehensive set of features, while the premium plans include useful features like a system tune-up tool and an VPN.

AVG’s mobile applications include exclusive features that aren’t available in the desktop version. Android apps, for example, allow you to remotely secure and wipe your phone in case it is lost. It also has the option of a photo vault to save all your private images and videos securely. Its anti-theft tool is useful, allowing you to pinpoint the location of your phone and make it sound a siren.

The user-friendly interface of AVG makes it easy to navigate through its numerous features. It has familiar headings and thumbnails. In the settings menu you can adjust the sensitivity of your scan and add or remove formats from the scan. You can also enable advanced options, such as shredding and deep scanning after they have been scanned. You can also change the pop-up notifications, configure what information is shared with AVG and set the « do not disturb » mode for full-screen gaming or video-watching.
